We can transfer your old VHS tape to DVD for only £12.00 per tape.

*Please note that we cannot transfer any copywright material such as old TV programmes. We can only transfer non copywright material such as home movies.

Betamax to DVD Transfer

We can convert your old Betamax tapes to DVD to help preserve those precious memories for years to come.

We can transfer your old Betamax tape to DVD for only £13.00 per tape.

8mm Camcoder tapes to DVD

We can convert your old Video8 camcorder tapes to DVD to help preserve those precious memories for years to come.

We can transfer your old Video8 camcorder tapes to DVD for only £12.00 per tape.

Transferring your tapes to USB

We can also transfer your VHS, Betamax or Video8 8mm camcorder tapes to a USB memory stick.

VHS to USB £12.00 (£8.00 if own USB Stick supplied.)

Video8 to USB £12.00 (£8.00 if own USB Stick supplied).

Betamax to USB £13.00 (£8.00 if own USB Stick supplied).

Terms and Conditions

1. Sending and returning your media


J-Wrethman Video cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage sustained to your media during transit to and from us. You are advised to send us your media using a tracked delivery service that requires a signature on delivery. We will wherever possible send your transferred media including your original tapes back to you via Royal Mail tracked delivery. We cannot be held responsible for any delivery delays as these are completly beyond our control.



2. Storage of your transferred media


After we have transferred your tapes to digital we will keep a copy of the material on our system for a period of 120 days should you require any extra copies. (e.g. if we transferred your tapes to digital on Monday 18th January 2021 then we will keep a copy of your material on our system until Tuesday 18th May 2021.) After the 120 days we will delete your material from our system.


3. DVD and Media Player Compatibility & Guarantees


The DVD discs that we produce are high quality industry standard DVD-R discs. Digital files are MP4. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure compatibility of their playback equipment and software.


4. Problems with your DVD Discs


If you experience any problems with your DVD Discs then you must contact us within 14 days of receiving your media describing the problem that you are experiencing. However we cannot accept responsibility for damaged/ mishandled discs or any issues with incompatible DVD players. It is the customers responsibility to protect their DVD’s from damage.


5. Your responsibility


WE WILL NOT ACCEPT and it is your responsibility to ensure, that the source media supplied SHALL NOT contain material classed as ‘Prohibited Content’ and must comply with current laws of shipping audio/visual material. Prohibited Content: Generally, Prohibited Content includes (without limitation) any of the following types of Content: a. Content we believe is abusive, deceptive, pornographic, obscene, defamatory, slanderous, offensive, or otherwise inappropriate. b. Copyrighted material that is used without the express permission of the owner. c. Content that violates or encroaches on the rights of others. d. Content or other material that contains viruses, worms, corrupt files, Trojan horses and other forms of corruptive code or any other content, which may compromise our service. e. Content that advocates illegal activity. f. Content that harms minors in any way. We reserve the right to charge an administration fee if we have to return any material deemed unsuitable for copying.


6. Currency


All prices are in Pounds Sterling (GBP) unless otherwise stated.



7. Quality of transfer


We will aim to achieve the best quality of transfer possible. However the age and condition of the tape can affect the quality of the transfer as can damp and humidity. If there are any major problems that may arise during the transfer of your material we will endevour to contact you as soon as possible to discuss the problems and the best course of action to rectify them.

8. Payment Methods.

When we have finished your order we will send you an invoice via PayPal detailing the work undertaken. Once we have received payment we will send out your order via Royal Mail Tracked48h. We also accept bank transfer as a method of payment.

How do I send my tapes to you?


We recommend using a tracked delivery service such as Royal Mail Tracked 48h. You should send us your media in a secure cardboard box with our address on the package.


How will I know that you have received my tapes?


On receipt of your tapes we will send you an email confirming that we have received your tapes.


How long will my order take?


This is dependent on the size of the order but we aim to complete your order in 1-3 weeks.


Will I get my original tapes back?


Yes you will receive your original tapes back along with your digital copies.


How will my order be returned?


We return all orders using Royal Mail Tracked48h.


What formats do you convert?


We currently convert VHS, Betamax and Video8 to DVD and USB.

When do I pay?


When we have completed your transfer we will send you an invoice. Once we have received payment we will send your order back to you using Royal Mail Tracked48h.


Do you charge per hour of footage?


Our charges are per tape regardless of run-time.

Can you provide a USB Stick?

Yes we can supply a USB stick with your media on. If you wish to provide your own USB Stick then the cost of the transfer of your tape to USB will be £8.00.
